We specialize in team service. Man and wife, brothers, cousins, friends, and father & son make great combinations for team pairing. Nonetheless, we have had great success at pairing up random driver applicants with currently employed drivers for training on produce hauling. We can teach you the insides and outs of this exciting and rewarding career. Drivers are attracted to our employment because we only require you to make one trip to the coast (5-6 days) and then you are off for 48-54 hours. New trips are available again for the next turn. Currently we pay on PCMiler Practical miles. Our teams average over $1,000 per week each driver. See our pay scale here.
Recognizing that our drivers will spend most of their week in our truck we spare no expense to spec driver friendly and comfortable tractors. Our fleet is 100% Kenworth equipped with all the amenities you need to make a successful and safe trip. Routinely replaced, our average fleet age is less than 2 years to ensure up time and dependability. All trailers are tracked in our operations department to make sure they are functioning properly and keeping our customer's produce as fresh as possible. Trailers are replaced every 6 years enabling us to meet CARB requirements. Our over the road fleet is all Kenworth T680's equipped with the most fuel efficient specs currently available including Qualcomm communications, on board printers, and ELogs.
All employees are paid weekly for all loads dropped on the yard prior to that day's payroll. In addition, all drivers can receive cash advances of $200 at the beginning of each week.
Based in the beautiful mountains of Central Virginia, Englander Transport, Inc. was formed in 1986 by Ron England and Carroll Hudson. After many years of great success in building a premier transportation provider, on January 1, 2014 they sold the company to Carl Bumgarner who promptly renamed it Englander Transportation, Inc. Recognizing the company's impeccable reputation with customers and the strong loyalty of its employees, Carl felt that it was important to maintain the same business strategy as well as the ideals that make this company a great home for its employees. In addition, like all recognizable brands, the Englander name had to be carried on after so many years of leaving a lasting impression. Now, with a new owner at the lead, Englander is well prepared to remain a recognizable refrigerated carrier in the region.

After many attempts of finding its niche, Englander is now focused on a company core concept. Utilizing properly trained team drivers, we transport various freight from Virginia & North Carolina to the West Coast. There we pick up mixed produce loads for various distributors and processors in the Virginia, DC, and Maryland market. Each team makes a complete turn every 5 to 6 days bringing the loads back to our corporate office in Rustburg, Virginia. Local drivers then deliver the loads to their final destination. This allows each team to take their break and make a turn again in 48 hours.
